So for me, I can't find the difference between the general RAW files and the Apple ProRAW files. And when I search for information about 'Apple ProRAW', I can only find that it gives more chance for people to edit the image. Any idea what happens in LR cloud? Again, really irritating and having a hard time deciding if I should even take pictures with the iPhone if this is the quality of ProRaw images I will have to work with.Ĭamera RAW in iPhone? Hi, I have a question with the RAW photos in iPhone.Īs far as I know, iPhone didn't support RAW files when taking pictures until iPhone 12 Pro came out.Īnd while I was looking about informations, I got some questions.Īs far as I know, a 'RAW file' in image means a image that is not touched in any ways(Compression, Color Grading.etc). Moved files two ways, one through iPhoto and the other by copying the files directly to the cloud. Really irritated as I do not think it is an issue with the iPhone but with Apple's ProRaw format. Then I compared an iPhone HEIC file to a DNG file and it is my opinion that either Apple is sending muddy ProRes DNG files out of the camera or Adobe does not know how to do the conversion of Apple's ProRes format. Did some test shots and used Adobe Enhance as well as Topaz Gigapixel/Photo AI to upsize the 12mpx DNG files from the iPhone and was shocked at the results. I am getting ready for a short trip to Europe and purchased a iPhone 14 with the idea that it would be my only camera I would use on the trip.
